@Make Money Talks - Yes, for those of you who update your site frequently under daily basis, it would be very wise to use a re-visit tag on your site. This tag tells the search engine how often to come back and index your site. (Sites that are frequently updated are considered slightly more important by the search engines.)

@MoonDog - An H1 tag is important to improve site relevance for your keyword in the search engines eyes. An H1 tag describes to the search engine spider what the page it's on is mainly about, thus allowing the search engine to rank your site better for your particular keyword.

As far as the title, description and meta tags, there is a really neat plugin called the <a href="http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/" rel="nofollow">All In One SEO Plugin</a> and it allows you to easily type in all the keywords and descriptions right from your WordPress.

Robot and author tags are okay, but I don't feel they are all that necessary, I don't bother using them. However depending on a persons situation it might be of some use to them.

A robot tag allows you to prohibit the search engine spider from indexing certain parts of your site you choose. Author meta tags are simply to identify the author by their name and provide some type of contact info.

If you seem to be having trouble with this, I'd be more then happy to help you out, just get in touch with me through the contact form on this site.

I'm glad you did this. I've always been confused with SEO, descriptions, meta tags, etc. and now you've added to it with an HI tag. What is that?

Including the name of the site or blog into the keywords and description is something I am not doing but will address now that you've made note of it.

What are author and robots meta tags? I've seen those mentioned but have no idea what they are or how to apply them.

I'll hire you to fix all of that for my site - I'm not kidding.

Thanks again for this informative post.
