3 WordPress Plugins I Love
June 5, 2008
Now I must say I love WordPress, and the main reason I love it is because of all the cool plugins that are made for it that make blogging so much easier. I couldn’t imagine doing by hand what most plugins do automatically for my blog. And to think at some point, people had to do these things manually!
The easy use of plugins is one of the reasons I chose WordPress as my blogging platform, check this post out to learn why some people choose Blogger over WordPress.
Without further ado, here are 3 WordPress plugins I absolutely love and recommend to all of my readers.
1.) All in One SEO Plugin - Now this is truly a godly plugin. I’m sure all of you have heard of optimizing your pages title, description, and keyword meta tags - If you haven’t check out this post Title tags, Meta Keyword, and Description tags . Well what this plugin does is that it allows you to apply these tags to each one of your individual pages. This is great because otherwise you would only be able to optimize your homepage and that’s about it. If you want to search engine optimize all of your pages, post’s, and articles with your keywords then the All in one SEO plugin is for you.
2.) Buy Me a Beer Plugin - This plugin is one of the best and most humorous ways to get someone to make a donation for your site, and it made my Top Ways To Make Money From Your Website or Blog list for this years quarter. The plugin allows you to place a link on your sidebar or at the bottom of every post (or both) asking your readers to buy you a beer, and a cool little beer icon shows up next to the link. For those of us that don’t drink we have the option to opt to coffee instead, and a cool little coffee icon will show next to the link (check it out at the bottom of this post.) If a reader clicks on the link, they are taken to PayPal where they can make a secure donation to you.
3.) Striped Ad Plugin - Here is another in-genius plugin which is great for grabbing the attention of your readers as soon as they come to your site. What it does is it displays a clean stripe right under the header across the site (look at the top of this page and see it in action.) This plugin allows you to place an advertisement in the form of a link directly on the striped ad, here you can place your affiliate links, welcome a new reader and ask them to subscribe to your RSS feed (like I do), link to your disclaimer or terms of service, announce and link to contest’s and or important news on your site, and a whole lot more. The possibilities take you as far as your imagination can go.
These are 3 WordPress plugins I would recommend to any and every WordPress user out there. They’re convenient, they’re usefull, they make you money, and help rank your site better for keywords you specify on EVERY one of your pages. I say it’s a go on all three if you ask me, and I actually do use all 3 on this site, because they are that good.
Anybody use these plugins? What do you guys think of them? Let’s hear some stories on how these plugins can or have worked for you.

I will admit that I love Wordpress and especially Plugins.
I use those same plugins on my blogs but I tend to go over board and load too many plugins. Just yesterday I dropped 18 plugins on one of my blogs.
Sometimes I load plugins to give them a try and then forget about them so they can pile up and slow your blog down enough to bug your readers.
All in one SEO plugin is really top notch! If you don’t use it, then you are losing only good stuff!
@James - I agree, too much of anything is never good in life. I haven’t come across this problem yet, I have about 9-10 plugins on this site including the ones mentioned in the post above. I must say 18 plugins is quite a lot! Glad you got around to doing some maintenance.
@Make Money - I couldn’t have put it better my friend.
