Title tags, Meta Keyword, and Description tags
May 14, 2008
So you want more SEO? Think about what your site is mostly about on the home page. Then on this pages header (homepage), you want to place title, meta keyword, and description tags. In the title tag you want to place whatever title you want to give your blog, it is very important you keyword your niche into it. In my opinion more than once.
Whatever your page is about, you may want to include title tags in the header describing your site as much as it can in detail, you also want to make sure you keyword your niche into it.
It should look something like this…
Now when it comes to meta tags you want to write a description of your site, and place the niche keywords as well. The description of your page will be what is shown when your site is viewed in the organic results of a search engine, so you might want to make it good.
You should add niche keywords in your description as well.
This is an example of how my site comes up in the search engines. As you can see I try to describe my site with as much detail in the shortest way possible, while at the same time including my niche keywords.

Now plenty of people already do this on their homepage, but it’s more then just the home page. If you have 5 products I’m sure you want to rank number one for all and not just one. What if your products are all different, so all your keywords are also different. You need to optimize your pages individualy with the tags mentioned above for the search engines. You want to make sure every individual page is optimized for the exact content on that page. This will give it better ranking in the search engines.
Insert these tags underneath the header on every individual page you create, and not only will that page be ranked better, but your adsense or any other 3rd party ad you might have (if you do have any) will display better targeted ads, that are more relevant to the content on that page.
If you use WordPress, then this Plugin can help you do this, and make your life much easier.
