$4800 a Month? Is it a Scam?
May 2, 2008
I got an email stating that this company “ContactThem” was very interested in my site’s traffic rank
and would pay me $4800 a month to place their ad on my site, and the following month $9000, right away I was suspicious because my site was new and the traffic rank they said I had was no where near my actual traffic rank at the time. To my findings just like I suspected these numbers are just “potential” numbers and all depend on the sales you make.
Something else they didn’t make clear on the sales page, is that you have to buy this program that lets you get a ton of webmasters e-mails and you can e-mail them with the same “get paid $4800 a month to place our ads on your site” gimmick to get them to buy the program as well and you get paid commission. It’s along the lines of affiliate marketing, but their tactics are sneaky so I don’t like them at all.
The program that you have to buy works by scanning websites and collecting the e-mail address webmasters leave on their contact page, that would explain how my and every other webmasters contact email that’s placed on our site get all of these silly offers. I’m not going to call them a scam as they are not and people are making money from this, but it’s just not a way I like to make money, and it’s really based on e-mail marketing which is okay but it’s almost spamming only with a loop hole.
See I did not agree to receive any sort of offer from them or their affiliates, but the email they sent it to is an email I have placed on a public site for anyone to contact me, so I can’t do anything about it except have my mail client label them as spam. That’s what I mean about the loop hole. Anyone looking to make any money with this you can go ahead if you like this sort of deceiving marketing but I sure don’t recommend it.

Yeah, the tactics is sneaky indeed, but I am one of those person that would try out. If it did not work, then unsubcribe it. I had included the contactThem referal banner in my web-site to build my downline and had been promoting it, but I did not buy the software. I had notice an incease of traffic and hits to my website, and since then I had 2 downline.

Hey Ben! Thank you for your comment. It’s good to hear from someone who knows a bit more about ContactThem. I’ve been receiving more emails from different people trying to get me in their downline, but I’m not too fond of their marketing strategies: unsolicited emails. Hopefully you could shed some more light on them. Thanks again Ben!
